Maintaining Your Carbon Fiber


Carbon Fiber Care

1. Cleaning

  • Use a soft cloth or microfiber towel to wipe down the surface.

  • For stubborn dirt, use mild soap and water; avoid harsh chemicals.

  • Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue.

  • Parts are pressure washer friendly, however be sure to maintain a healthy distance between pressure washer nozzle and the part being cleaned.

2. Avoiding Scratches

  • Avoid contact with abrasive surfaces or materials.

  • Small scratches can be removed with wax such as SC1, or 303 Aerospace Protectant.

3. UV Protection

  • Keep carbon fiber items out of direct sunlight for extended periods.

  • Consider applying a UV protectant or sealant designed for carbon fiber.

  • We recommend using 303 Aerospace Protectant to prevent UV damage.

4. Storage

  • Store in a cool, shady place to prevent excess damage.

  • Avoid extreme temperatures that could weaken the material.

5. Regular Inspections

  • Check for signs of wear or damage regularly.

  • Address any cracks or issues promptly to prevent further damage, Zenbuilt Performance offers repair services as well.

6. Professional Maintenance

  • Clean with soap and water, such as simple green, do not use acidic cleaning products that will eat or etch such as ZEP.

  • Polish with wax/303 Aerospace Protectant.

  • Buff dry with a clean microfiber cloth.
